Burundi

The project “Financing of technical assistance supports to the Burundian State” aims at placing at disposal of the administrative structures of the Burundian State, short, medium and long term expertise, in order to reinforce them and to support them in the realization of their mandate.

The Ministry of National Education and Culture of Burundi requires within the framework of this project a technical expertise to support the sector-based planning of National Education.

Vis-à-vis the many challenges which National Education must take up, the development of a relevant and realistic sector-based plan proves to be essential to materialize the strategic orientations and to coordinate the Burundi interventions and the various financial backers who appeared to support the Education sector.

The principal function of the Cecoforma experts is to support the development of the medium-term sector-based Education Plan (2006-2010) and the operational action plans 2006-2007 and 2007-2008. (Budget : 63.000 EUR)

  •  Capitalization and finalization of the work of the national expert concerning operation and the work completed by the 4 technical committees and the national committee of coordination
  • Centralization of all information of the sector-based programs and studies at the coordination committee
  • Assistance and advice to the Ministry for the formulation of the sector-based strategy in the medium term (2006-2010) and the definition of the evaluation mechanisms
  • Assistance and advice to the Ministry for the development of a realistic budget to finance the sector-based plan in the medium term
  • Support and consolidation of an information and communication network of partners and other stakeholders
  • Centralization of information concerning the financial commitments of the State and the financial backers for the Action plans 2006-2007 and 2007-2008
  • Assistance and advice to the Ministry for the formulation of the annual action plan in line with the medium-term strategy and the realistic budget
