Bring the European Film Forum hosted in Venice to online audiences across Europe

European Film Forum (EFF)

4 September 2020 — Venice, Italy (Hybrid)

Creative Europe MEDIA unit of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CNECT), organised in collaboration with LaBiennale, an EFF in Venice during the 77th Mostra (Venice Film Festival). The aim of the forum was to enable discourse on fostering recovery and building resilience in the European audiovisual sector.

This event was part of a multiple event specific contract over the course of one year (December 2019-December 2020). This marks the 5th year cecoforma has proudly organised these series of events and over the years, we have built strong ties with local organisers and suppliers.

Our team was commissioned with the logistics of organising the hybrid EFF event; tasks included liaising with local providers (like LaBiennale), creating an online back office for the virtual events, producing the visual identity and much more.

cecoforma also helped bring together a virtual round table, contacting and briefing the speakers and setting up the online platform.

Among the keynote speakers were Thierry Breton, European Commissioner for Internal Market and Roberto Cicutto, President of La Biennale di Venezia. Around 35 participants were present in Venice in the conference room, with an additional 342 online (253 via the Venice Production Bridge webpage available in three languages and 89 via the European Commission’s YouTube channel).

We used the platform beyond as the back office but not for the audience; on this particular occasion they connected through Venice Bridge Production. beyond is a virtual tool developed by cecoforma. beyond was once again an indispensable tool contributing to the reliable technology and ease of interaction during the event.
